For a while now, Ada has been her usual cautious self and hasn't really enjoyed "swimming."
A few months before the summer, I started swimming lessons for her... they went well. She did exactly what the teacher told her. She's not really afraid of the water, BUT she doesn't really enjoy as she should. And by enjoy, I mean she cried, cried and more cried if she wasn't clutched to every part of my being while in the water. I tried to explain the floaties would hold her up and that she was in control, that her smaller, younger brother wasn't afraid, but for some reason she was overwhelmed. I'm not really all that surprised being Ada is and has always been my cautious one. It has to be on her time....
Seriously.... she went from a screaming fit to oh yeah I can swim... We were swimming at Katie's mom's house, and she just decided she could do it. In fact, she told me several times, I can do it mom, let me go! I was so proud. She has continued to do well. But, she has attached herself to those pink floaties, like they are the magic... Guess we should stock up on hot pink floaties! Anyway, I'm so glad she enjoys swimming now. I've never seen a kid cry so much when you take them swimming...

This just reminds me that I haven't sent you the pictures I have of Ada swimming. I'll get on that.
