The culprit...Bradford Pear.... Every spring when this tree is replacing these white flowers with leaves, Ada thinks it is snowing! Not really, but she likes to pretend. When the wind blows like it has been lately, the white flowers just fly off the tree and really sometimes it looks like it is snowing. I think Bradford Pears are pretty, just not in my yard. They have a weird smell, and my garage is covered with white particles that get tracked in to my house, creating an endless amount of sweeping, which no one should have to do. I'm glad Ada has enjoyed this tree for a few years... we will not have another one!

Good for you! I should start a facebook group - Arkansans against Bradford Pear! It's like the worst tree ever cultivated.
You know why it smells that way, right? Bradford Pears are pollinated by flies and the more like rotting flesh it smells the better to attack pollinators. A disgusting little adaption.
Everyone in our 'hood has a bradford pear. Disgusting about the flies. Yucky I didn't know that.
