Beauty Shop talk

This past week I went to get my hair did! It's always nice to get your hair cut, colored, fixed, whatever by someone other than yourself. Anyway, this cute girl Lauren cuts my hair. She's young like 22 or so and just got married last year. She's great. So, I have to go late in the evening because Darren doesn't get home until 5:30, so usually it's just us in the shop. Well, that night there was a another lady there who is also young and about to get married. As Lauren and I are griping about all kinds of stuff, husbands, responsibility, marriage responsibilities (aka sex) I had no idea there was someone listening who could possible get jaded by this conversation. This young girl comes over and engages in the conversation and begins to ask questions about all kinds of stuff... You ladies know how it is when a bunch of married women get together and the word sex comes up.. Well, I won't get into detail about the conversation, but the point I wanted to make is, that I was the "old married lady" How sad is that? Man, I was feeling like a real old married mom... Not that that is bad, it's just a Wow moment... I'm no longer the just married, young girl... I'm the old married lady with all the answers. And, while I know I don't have all the answers, it was shocking to me that some of these questions had not been answered by their own mothers. So, besides getting down about being the "old married lady" I'm gonna take this experience as knowledge to equip my child for marriage and try and remember what it was like to be young and newly married and encourage my daughter to ask me questions. After all, I am the only one who will give her "real" answers and not the embelished ones most tend to give. Please Lord let me remember this when my little girl gets older, as most would not like to think of our little girls growing up and getting married.
